Draw no bet, often shortened to DNB, is a football market where you back one team to win and receive your stake back if the match ends in a draw. If your selected team loses, you lose the stake.
The important distinction: a draw is a refund, not a winning bet. Removing that losing outcome usually means accepting shorter odds than the ordinary match-result price on the same team.
You can select either the home team or the away team. Settlement depends on the result for your chosen side:
Standard full-match football markets generally use 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties. Check the market wording and the bookmaker’s settlement rules.
A team advancing after extra time does not turn a drawn 90-minute DNB selection into a winning bet.
Zero Asian handicap has the same basic settlement as draw no bet when the team, match period, and rules match—see Asian handicap explained for other lines.
Suppose you place a hypothetical £10 home-team DNB bet at decimal odds of 1.80.
For the winning result, multiply the £10 stake by 1.80 to calculate the £18 total return. That includes the original stake, leaving £8 profit.
For the draw, receiving £10 back means you have broken even on that selection—not earned £10.
These examples use a cash stake. Free bets and promotional stakes can have different refund conditions.
For more on returns and implied probability, see football betting odds explained.
Home DNB and home-or-draw double chance both lose if the away team wins. The difference is what happens when the match finishes level.
Neither option is automatically better value. They offer different settlement terms and prices, so compare the exact selection rather than choosing solely by the higher odds.
Also, 12 double chance is not draw no bet: it backs either team to win and loses if the match is drawn. See double chance meaning: 1X, X2 and 12 for all three combinations.

OddsPortal includes draw-no-bet markets on football comparison pages where available. Confirm the match period and current bookmaker price before comparing quotes.
Betamin Builder supports historical research for home and away DNB strategies. Its documentation describes DNB prices calculated from 1X2 odds, so do not assume these are directly recorded market quotes.
OddsJam documents draw no bet as a category in its bet tracker, helping distinguish DNB records from ordinary match-result selections. This does not establish DNB coverage in every advanced tool or subscription.
Start with one hypothetical selection and check the win, draw, and loss scenarios. A draw refund changes settlement—it does not remove the possibility of losing your stake.
